Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday attacked AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal at a public meeting in poll-bound Delhi, saying the former Delhi chief minister “used to come in a small car but lived in a ‘Sheesh Mahal'”. He was referring to the blue Wagon R, which was Kejriwal’s main vehicle when he first became Delhi chief minister. Gandhi’s ‘Sheesh Mahal’ reference was linked to the BJP’s claim that Kejriwal spent open money to renovate his old government house. “Arvind Kejriwal had said that he would do many kinds of political work, used to come in a small car but lived in a ‘Sheesh Mahal’,” Gandhi said at the Patparganj rally. Rahul Gandhi claimed that Arvind Kejriwal was nowhere to be seen when violence broke out in Delhi.

“When the poor needed him and when violence broke out in Delhi, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal was never seen,” he said. He also took a dig at Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal over the Delhi riots. “Patparganj MLA Manish Sisodia was the mastermind behind the liquor game with Arvind Kejriwal, so Sisodia fled from the spot,” he said. Both Sisodia and Kejriwal had to spend several months in jail for the liquor game. They were released on bail last year. Manish Sisodia is contesting the Delhi Assembly election from the Jangpura assembly constituency. “Arvind Kejriwal promised to do politics in an unexpected way but gave Delhi the biggest liquor game,” Gandhi said. Earlier today, Gandhi campaigned for Sandeep Dikshit, who is challenging AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi constituency in the February 5 assembly election, PTI reported.
