Simran Singh, a famous social media influencer and radio host from Jammu and Kashmir, committed suicide in her rented flat in Gurugram, Haryana on Wednesday evening.
RJ Simran, popularly known as ‘Jammu ki Dhadak‘, had over 7 lakh followers on Instagram. The 25-year-old Simran often shared her daily life experiences through reels. From smart videos to dance reels, design inspirations, cosmetics content and short travel vlogs, Simran was extremely active on social media. Her active videos and her passion in content helped her garner a significant fan base on Instagram.
The influencer also met Abhishek Bachchan at an event at Prideble last year. Sharing a video with the actor, Simran wrote, “Simran being Simran. Clumsy Behaviour 101.” Simran often shared videos with her pet dog Bike. Her last post was on December 13. In the video, she is seen walking in a dress by the sea. The caption of her post read, “Just a young lady, who keeps laughing and rocks the beach with her outfits.” According to media reports, Simran was battling personal problems for some time. Her post-mortem was conducted on Thursday morning following a written complaint from the deceased’s family. The body was then handed over to her family. Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) chief Farooq Abdullah and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah expressed their deep condolences over her demise in a statement on X. “Dr. Farooq Abdullah, president of JKNC, and party president and Chief Minister @OmarAbdullah as well as Deputy Chief Minister @Surinderch55 have expressed deep anguish over the sad and unfortunate end of Simran Singh, popularly known as RJ Simran and fondly called “Jammu ki Dhadkan”, read a post on the official X page of JKNC. “Simran’s voice and charm resonated with the soul of Jammu and Kashmir. His dedication to the social fabric of our region will always be remembered,” Omar Abdullah and his father Farooq Abdullah said in a joint statement.
